Correction - Little Bear Sweater

Correction - Little Bear Sweater

Oversized and bulky, this unisex cardigan will be cherished for years to come. The wonderful cable pattern uses the same stitch over and over again, making the design less complicated than it looks — but no one has to know!

Additionally, the front and back cables do not line up at the shoulder seams in the three larger sizes.  To adjust the pattern and easily line up the cables at the shoulders the pattern should be worked as follows:

Left Front:
With smaller needles, cast on 29 (32, 33, 35) sts. Work in twisted 1x1 rib for 1½ (1½, 1½, 2)".  Change to larger needles and knit across row, inc 3 (2, 3, 3) sts; 32 (34, 36, 38) sts.  Beg pat as follows:
Row 1 and all odd rows (WS): P1, k2, p8, k2, p1, pm, k2, p8, k2, p1, pm, work 4 (6, 8, 10) sts in seed st, p1 (selv).
Row 2:  K1 (selv), work 4 (6, 8, 10) sts in seed st work left front cable chart.
Row 4: K1 (selv), work 4 (6, 8, 10) sts in seed st, work left front cable chart.

Row 8: K1 (selv), work 4 (6, 8, 10) sts in seed st, work left front cable chart.

Right Front:

Row 1 and all odd rows (WS): P1 (selv), pm, work next 4 (6, 8, 10) sts in seed st, p1, k2, p8, k2, pm, p1, k2, p8, k2, p1.

another question about pattern
This correction doesn't say how long to knit each front side. The original pattern gives this measurement, but says to end the left side on a RS, while it says to end the right with a WS row.
Response to question
Hi, and thank you so much for your question! For this section, you will not bind off at the neck edge when the neck edge is at the end of the shoulder or you will be left with a stitch at the end of your right needle. To work the neck shaping, you will work the first shoulder side completely. Then, using a separate ball of yarn, bind off 1 st at the neck edge of the second shoulder side (1 st bound off on this row). Then, for your second bind off row, work the first shoulder side completely. Then, using a separate ball of yarn, bind off 1 st at the neck edge of the second shoulder (1 more st bound off). I hope this helps, but please email me at mail@loveofknitting.com if you have any other questions.
Another error in pattern
There is also an error for size 2-3 years in the Shape Neck paragraph for the back. If there are 21 stitches in each shoulder, you cannot bind off 1 st in each of 2 rows and get to 20 sts. Not sure whether to bind off 2 or just do 1 row.
