Response to question
Hi, and thank you for your question. To work this pattern, you will knit stitches 1-9 as they are on the original chart on page 63. Then, you will repeat sts 10-25 a total of 17 times across the row. You'll then work sts 26-34. I hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any other questions.
The calculations on this pattern don't work
Your pattern says cast on 290. With a 16 stitch, 17 repeat, plus a 7 stitch edge, that makes a cast on of 286, OR a 9 stitch edge to get to the 292.
Response to pattern
Thanks so much for your interest in this pattern. The border is added after knitting the cable pattern from the chart. However, we have found an error in the chart so I have included a link to the corrected version here for you. http://www.loveofknitting.com/content_downloads/Cable_Pattern_Repeat__missing_from_issue_.pdf I hope this helps, and please let us know if you have any further questions.
This picture appears to have a border and the pattern available in the magazine, which I have, doesn't suggest this border. Perhaps someone could clarify. ellebelle
