We love the heathery and rustic appearance of this woolen yarn.  Shorn from sustainably raised Border Leicester sheep, and spun at an Artisan "mini mill", this yarn is produced and processed in the USA. Rather than being carbonized, the fleece is washed in a gentle organic process, which leaves the wool in a soft natural condition. Due to this gentle washing you may find bits of chaff left in the wool as you work.  The chaff should remove easily as you knit – if not, a pair of tweezers will finish the job.  Great for garments, accessories or home decorative items, this versatile fiber is a necessary staple for your yarn stash. You won’t be disappointed with the wonderful stitch definition or the lightweight hand.
