Brenda, our art director, loved the look of the original Peace, Love, and Tie-Dye scarf so much that she decided to knit one exactly like the sample featured in our Summer 2012 issue.
I decided to use Waterfall by Great Adirondack Yarn Company. I really wanted to see how the fantastic broomstick lace stitch looked in this brilliant ribbon and mohair yarn. Because the scarf is two sides of equal length joined with a three-needle bind off at the center back I decided to wind my hank of Waterfall into two small balls, before casting on. I thought that the two small balls would make it easier to find the “half-way” point.
Which texture do you prefer?

I have already made four of these, two in the Ty-Dy and two in solid (Cascade ultra Pima). And I plan to make more as gifts. The scarves are beautiful and unique. They look complicated, but once you get the hang of the stitch, they go quickly.
which book is that in? I’d like to give that a try when I finish my doll…
