That’s the thing about knitting — it’s a learning process. You won’t always understand every abbreviation and every piece of instruction. But most likely, you can figure it out. That’s part of the fun!
When you run into a problem, try one of these options to get unstuck.
Dig for more info
You can find step-by-step advice in the basic knitting instructions section in the back of each issue of Love of Knitting. You can also find more knitting tutorials on our website.
Watch a how-to video
We have a treasure trove of how-to-knit videos on our website. This kind of knitting help can be invaluable. Instead of looking at still photos of each step, you can watch Jennifer, our lovely Editor-in-Chief, show you exactly how to do it.
Find a knitting buddy
If you are lucky enough to know someone who knits, don’t be afraid to ask them for help. Knitters love to help other knitters! And you might just make a new friend in the process.
Go to a yarn shop
Yarn shops can often be great places to get answers to your knitting questions. Many yarn shops also offer classes, so that can be a great way to advance your knitting knowledge as well.
